Description

Heater X-880 304 Soft Cast Blade Iron Heads

  • Compare to TaylorMade® P770™.
  • The new Heater X-880 Irons are a compact, Tour-proven shape with built in performance for elevated distance, forgiveness and feel.
  • Compact Shape with Distance & Forgiveness: This more compact players iron has no problem keeping up with the heavy hitters, delivering explosive power and distance.  Heater X-880 has a thinner topline, less offset (in the long irons) and shorter blade length.
  • 304 Soft Steel: Heater X-880 is precision cast from 304 soft steel for a responsive feel preferred by low handicap golfers. The softer steel allows for more bending than conventional 431 stainless steel iron heads for improved custom fitting.
  • Hollow Channel: A drilled, hollow channel is filled with Urethane dampening material to reduce the impact shock
  • A narrow sole and tight leading edge ensures consistency through the turf.
  • The clean, compact design presents an eye-pleasing address view that inspires confidence.
  • Loft, Lie, Face Angle +/- 1°; Weight +/- 3 gm tolerance.

Built a set with these heads and now have 7 months of use by multiple players. Heads are very nice looking at address, clean lines and fairly thin top line. As far as performance, they feel great, especially for the price and one of the players that hit them owns a set of TaylorMade P770 and had nothing but praise for the head and how it performs. My one complaint that I noticed after some range time the other day is that the toe plugs on all of the heads are now loose and about to come out, thankfully none have yet. So as for durability I’m not so convinced. Again no effect to performance and the heads are otherwise great, but didn’t expect to even have to keep an eye out for something like that. Overall a decent clubhead.

These heads look and feel tremendous in hand, these are my first experience with clone type heads. I have completed the build planned for these but have yet had the chance ( read weather) to get to hit them. Hoping they play as good as they look and feel.
